Kirk Jowers Leaving Hinckley Institute of Politics

Kirk Jowers is leaving the Hinckley Institute of Politics after a decade at the helm of that organization.

Jowers announced Thursday he is taking a position with doTERRA International. His last day is June 30th.

Jowers worked on Mitt Romney's 2012 campaign, and was prepared to leave the U for a time to help Romney again if he decided to run in 2016.

Jowers has often been a rumored candidate for a number of offices but never made a run for any of them. Most recently he was involved in the "Count My Vote" effort.

Jason Perry, former chief of staff to Gov. Gary Herbert, has been named the interim director of the Hinckley Institute.
