Democrats to Address Allegations Against Rep. Justin Miller

After more than a month of silence on the issue, House Democrats plan to address the charges that Rep. Justin Miller (D-Salt Lake City) stole approximately $30,000 from Salt Lake County Ben McAdams' campaign account.

The House Democrats have scheduled a 10:45 am news conference on Monday morning to discuss the allegations against Miller. A press release says House Minority Leader Rep. Brian King (D-Salt Lake City) will discuss the charges and "recommend further action."

Democrats have been taking a number of hits from Republicans because of their seeming silence on the issue, especially since Democrats took a leading role in calling for the resignation of former Attorney General John Swallow.

The allegations by McAdams against Miller are currently being reviewed by Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings.
