Today, Doug Owens officially announced his candidacy for Utah’s fourth congressional district in 2016. Utah Democratic Party Chair Peter Corroon issued this statement following the announcement:
“We’re excited that Doug has decided to enter the race, not only because he is a Democrat, but because he is the right person for the job. Doug represents the very best from our party, but most importantly, he represents Utahns.
Doug believes in the American middle class and supports pro-business policies as the best way to grow our middle class. He prioritizes the issues Utahns care about – education, pro-business reform, healthcare, and the idea of giving a person a hand up when he’s down, not a hand out.
Utahns need someone who will be dedicated to working across party lines in our best interest, rather than working to push a partisan agenda. That someone is Doug Owens.
I’m confident if the voters of Utah’s fourth district will take the time to get to know the issues and the candidates, they’ll realize Doug Owens is overwhelmingly the right choice.”
