Dry conditions in the foothills and City Creek Canyon have prompted Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities to ban all campfires, charcoal grills and open flames in City Creek Canyon.
Salt Lake City urges all City Creek Canyon visitors to comply with fire restrictions and use common sense to reduce public safety and watershed risks.
Fire restrictions are in place beginning Friday September 4, and will continue until fire risk decreases. Propane stoves are permitted in City Creek Canyon.
