World Trade Center Utah, in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and the Salt Lake Chamber is delighted to welcome His Excellency Pham Quang Vinh, Ambassador of Vietnam to the United States.
TheAmbassador will be joining us for a luncheon at the World Trade Center Building in Salt Lake City on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. We would like to invite the Utah business community and education leaders to join us. Due to high demand for the luncheon, seating is reserved for attendees currently or considering doing business in Vietnam. To this end, please indicate your interest in attending the luncheon by submitting your information through the request form. If WTC Utah is able to confirm your seat you will be notified via email. Click hereto fill out a request form.In 2001 the United States and Vietnam established a bilateral trade agreement. Since then, U.S. trade and investment between the two countries has increased substantially. In 2014, the total U.S. exports to Vietnam were $5.5 billion. U.S.-Vietnam bilateral trade has increased from $451 million in 1995 to nearly $35 billion in 2014. The U.S. exports to Vietnam include machinery, agricultural products, vehicles and yarn/fabric. The U.S. imports from Vietnam consist of agricultural products, electrical machinery, furniture and bedding, seafood, apparel and footwear. The U.S. and Vietnam belong to a number of the same international organizations including the World Trade Organization, United Nations, World Bank, ASEAN Regional Forum, International Monetary Fund and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.
