“The site helps us fulfill our mission to provide quality banking information for the residents of Utah,” said Ed Leary, Commissioner Utah Department of Financial Institutions. “Utahns may find useful help on everything from home and auto loans to credit reports and fraud.”

Some of the topics covered in the Consumer Tips are:

  • Accelerated Payment Programs
  • Auto Loan Tips
  • Co-maker, Co-signer, or Guarantor
  • Credit Cards
  • Credit Reports
  • Debt-To-Income Ratio
  • Fraud Alert
  • Direct Deposit
  • Interest Rates
  • Mortgage Loan Tips
  • Pitfalls of Checking Accounts

In addition to consumer information, the site is the official state resource for financial institutions. Financial services professionals will find up-to-date information on applications, regulations, legislation, contacts, news and policies.

“The searching functionality on the site has been greatly improved,” said Leary. “The site is now an excellent resource for finance professionals to find banking and financial institution information.”
