Utah’s Largest Day of Giving to Take Place this Thursday, March 31

On Thursday, March 31st, Utahns will come together to support nonprofit organizations and schools that strengthen and enrich our communities.

“Love UT Give UT continues to grow year after year. Last year Love UT Give UT raised $1,231,521 in unrestricted dollars for 497 charities in just 24 hours. We know the impact can be even greater this year,” said Alex Eaton, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Utah. “Utahns are the most generous people in the nation. Together we can reach our goal of raising $1.6 million this year for the 458 participating charities and schools across Utah,” Eaton added.

Love UT Give UT demonstrates that everyone can be a philanthropist and contribute to the causes that matter most to them – their school, a favorite charity, or a specific need. It is a day for Utahns of all backgrounds to join together for a day of giving using an online platform, www.loveUTgiveUT.org.

The platform helps connect donors with causes and makes it easy for individuals to search for the organizations and issues that are important to them. Love UT Give UT helps nonprofits and schools showcase their work, introducing them to new audiences. Last year, 22% of all donors were new to the causes they supported, crucial to the sustainability of our region’s nonprofits.

Love UT Give UT multiplies the impact of individual donations in several ways. Many employers use Love UT Give UT to match employee donations to their favorite nonprofits, and corporations take the opportunity to support the organizations they care about with matching grants. Additionally, Love UT Give UT’s “leaderboard prizes” totaling $84,000 reward the nonprofits with the highest number of unique donors amongst organizations of similar size.
