A Place to Start Helping Refugees

This weekend, The Leonardo will host a Weekend of Welcome, designed to support refugees and the organizations that help them make a successful transition into a new life. The event, which takes place April 8-10 at The Leonardo will have 1500 refugees on hand as well as several organizations including Catholic Community Services, The International Rescue Committee and Utah Department of Workforce Services.

The eventwill happen in tandem with the opening of The Leonardo’s newest exhibit, We Declare: An Exhibit About Human Rights. The opening will take place at 12 pm on Saturday, April 9. Dignitaries from around the state as well as the artists and curators who created the exhibit will be on hand to speak about the inspiration behind the exhibit. Additionally, we will make available for comment members of the various charitable organizations that will participate in the Weekend of Welcome.
