Kathie Allen blasts Mormons, Republicans on Twitter following loss

Shortly after she lost the CD3 election to Republican John Curtis, Democratic nominee Kathie Allen sent out (then deleted) a tweet that slammed Utah County voters for blindly voting for Mormons and Republicans.

The tweet was in response to a question from an Arkansas-based anti-Trump political account wondering what happened in Utah’s election Tuesday night.

“Curtis is Mormon and Republican. I am neither. That really seems to be the only thing Utah County cares about, just as I was warned,” she said in response.

Allen later apologized on Twitter, saying she deleted the tweet and it was “only up for a few hours in the middle of the night” while was grieving about her loss.

Allen lost to Curtis by 30-points on Tuesday night. The loss came despite Allen raising and spending more than $800,000 on her campaign.
