Former Sen. Orrin Hatch says Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden did not believe Anita Hill’s claims of sexual harassment in a new Fox News documentary set to air this week.
Hatch says Biden personally told him he did not believe Hill was being truthful in the Fox News program, High Tech Lynching.
“Biden told me personally that he didn’t believe her,” says Hatch in a clip from the forthcoming documentary. “He said, ‘I don’t know why she did this.’ I don’t mean to malign Joe, but Joe told me he didn’t believe here. And there were some others that told me that too.”
Hill accused Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of sexually harassing her while they were both employed at the Department of Education in the 1980s.
Biden was chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee at the time and has been criticized for the way he handled Hill’s accusations.
