Ogden Marathon “KidsK”

The GOAL Foundation, producers of the Ogden Marathon, will be hosting a reimagined KidsK event in conjunction with the Ogden Marathon Virtual Experience this year, at five locations, with 2,500 children participating.

The GOAL Foundation has been positively impacting the lives of local elementary school-aged children through their Young Runners Program for over 10 years. The program provides running activities and games, and the goal is simple:  To encourage kids to lead healthy and active lifestyles. They accomplish this through their partnership with the Boys and Girls Club afterschool programs.  The program is funded by personal donations and proceeds from the Ogden Marathon.

With the cancelation of the 2020 Ogden Marathon and the virtual aspect of the 2021 event, the GOAL Foundation wanted to offer something special to their Young Runners to encourage them to  “Get Out And Live!”.  With a generous sponsorship of Granite Construction, the GOAL Foundation is offering a reimagined KidsK event at no cost. Many of the children who will be participating qualify for free or reduced lunch, and face challenging circumstances.

The five free events are an opportunity for students to participate in a community activity that they might not otherwise have. “It will just be incredible to watch the kids cross the finish line. It’s been a challenging year for them, and we hope these events will give our Young Runners the opportunity to Get Out and Live” said, Eric Bauman, Executive Director.

The dates and times for the 3 remaining events are as follows:

Thursday, May 13th Shadow Valley Elementary, 4911 S. 1500 E. Ogden, UT from 9:30am-2:30pm
