The Utah Black History Museum traveling exhibit will be displayed on the Utah Valley University Orem Campus on February 8, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the Fulton Library quad and in the Language Arts Building, room 114.
The exhibit is free and open to the public and will feature gripping and inspiring stories about local and national Black history. The purpose of the museum and travelling exhibit is to promote the understanding, appreciation, and advancement of the Black experience in Utah, to teach local and national Black history, and celebrate the culture of the African Diaspora in the United States.
“We are looking forward to seeing and hearing the exhibit’s stories of Black frontiersmen, writers, musicians, leaders, and many more whose history has, until now, been rarely shared,” said Jerome Currelley, program director of the UVU African Diaspora Initiative. “It is compelling history that all Utahns should know and understand.”
