Mountainland Technical College celebrates over 2,100 graduate students in its historic 2023 Commencement Ceremony

Mountainland Technical College (MTECH) is thrilled to recognize Utah’s largest-ever graduating technical education class. On Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 7:00 pm, over 2,100 graduates will be recognized in the UCCU center at Utah Valley University.

And, when Utah Valley University President Astrid Tuminez offers the commencement keynote address, it will mark the first time a University President will do so at a technical college.

“Commencement ceremonies signify a capstone to the school year and celebrates a job well done to our students. Graduates can be proud of the efforts displayed in the classroom, and the strong work ethic they bring into the workforce,” shares MTECH President Clay Christensen. “By walking across the stage and receiving a well-earned certificate, they leave with the confidence and knowledge gained in their program and are more than prepared for the careers that await.”

About MTECH’s 2023 Graduates:
– This years graduating class will generate nearly $639 million, annually, into Utah’s economy;
– 30.15% of MTECH students are in high school and attend tuition free. High school students represent the largest such cohort at a technical college in the state;
– 97% of MTECH students will graduate with NO educational debt;
– The average age of an MTECH student is 22.7 years old, with 53.3% male students and 46.7% female students.

Additionally, MTECH students contributed to a 85.2% program completion rate, 85.5% job or higher education placement, and a 99% licensure rate.

This is an open event celebrating Apprenticeship, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Services Trade, Trade, and Technology students.

Guests are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:45 pm. Tickets are not required.
