Each year, HB Boys, LC – Burger King® Restaurants partners with Granite Education Foundation and five Granite School District schools to provide a summer meal punch card, good for 10 free meals, redeemable at their local Burger King®. Every student (2,284) from Whittier, Granger, Lincoln, Redwood, and Millcreek Elementary Schools, receives a punch card.
More than half of the elementary school students in Granite School District (14,010) qualify for the “Free and Reduced Lunch” program, and the challenges for them accessing food are amplified in summer months when they do not have the security of school sponsored breakfast and lunch.
“The Burger King Summer Meal Program is designed to help reduce the stress and anxiety that food insecurity brings, by ensuring that these kids receive at least one meal per week throughout the summer”, says Gary Moore, owner of HB Boys, LC – Burger King® Restaurants.
Representatives from HB Boys, LC – Burger King®, along with representatives from Granite Education Foundation, will deliver the summer meal punch cards to participating schools on Monday, May 22, 2023. School principals identify two classrooms per school, one upper grade and one lower grade, to receive the punch cards on behalf of their school.

Christa Wilkins, marketing director for HB Boys, LC – Burger King®, will visit the designated classrooms at each school to give students a brief explanation of the program.
