Republican Rachelle Morris files to run for Salt Lake County Council

Rachelle Morris is running for the At-Large C seat on the Salt Lake County Council. Rachelle is a lifelong Republican, a dynamic collaborative leader in the private sector, and is committed to making sure county government works for every resident of Salt Lake County.

“I am prepared and excited to share my collaborative vision for Salt Lake County, win the Republican nomination this Spring, and make sure that the Council has a strong private sector voice on the Council when I win the general election this Fall,” said Morris.

“I’m a descendent of Utah pioneers, an entrepreneur since the 6th grade, the product of a large family, and a strong fiscal conservative. I pledge to be laser focused on the County Budget, ensuring that tax dollars are spent wisely, county government performs only its necessary functions, and that taxpayers see a strong ROI on their hard earned dollars,” she continued.

In an era when the growth of government far outpaces population growth, Rachelle is the budget hawk that Salt Lake County needs on its Council. Rachelle understands the urgency to tackle homelessness, remove roadblocks to ensure upward economic mobility for all residents, prepare for the 2034 Olympics, and provide the infrastructure necessary to maintain a high quality of life in the Salt Lake Valley. Rachelle is well positioned to work collaboratively to solve the county’s greatest challenges, and do so in a fiscally responsible way – utilizing public-private partnerships and taking a fine-toothed comb to the County Budget to eliminate waste and redundancies.

“It’s time that Salt Lake County government focuses on issues that it has simply ignored, like homelessness. I am committed to tackling these tough issues by implementing ways to measure traction, progress, and results. Salt Lake County residents deserve results,” said Morris.

Rachelle has a strategy in place to compete at the Republican County Convention, will gather signatures to ensure a spot on the Primary Ballot, and will have the grassroots and financial support necessary to win the At-Large C seat for Republicans next fall.

A graduate of BYU, Rachelle has an extensive career in managing capital and is currently a managing director at RevRoad Capital, which recently set a record for the largest debut early stage venture fund raised in Utah state history. Together with her partners, Morris directs tens of millions of dollars to fund the entrepreneurs who power our economy. She has a strong track record of producing tangible and positive results and will utilize her private sector experience on the County Council, bringing real and positive results to the people of Salt Lake County.
