The Utah Debate Commission (UDC) has extended invitations to all candidates who met the threshold for participation in our general election gubernatorial debate to be held Wednesday, September 11, 6:00 PM, Salt Lake Community College,1575 South State St., Salt Lake City, Utah.
The debate qualification threshold of 10 percent, plus or minus the margin of error, was set by the UDC Board of Directors when the Commission was established in 2013. With the margin of error in this poll of 4.31 percent, candidates who achieved at least a 5.69 percent qualified for an invitation to participate. See the complete data below.
The qualifying candidates are:
- Spencer J. Cox, Republican
- Brian Smith King, Democratic
- J. Robert Latham, Libertarian
The sample for the gubernatorial poll included 518 voters, drawn randomly from the voter registration list obtained from the Utah Lieutenant Governor’s Office in August.
The Utah Debate Commission maintains a longstanding commitment to a fair and transparent process with rigorous data-driven decision making, ensuring that the most accurate methods are used to determine which candidates meet the required thresholds.
