NASA is headed to Salt Lake City. On Tuesday, June 24th at 6 p.m., Clark Planetarium will host a free, family-friendly event featuring a NASA astronaut and officials from the Artemis program to spotlight Utah’s pivotal role in sending humans deeper into space than ever before.

The event, will take place inside the Planetarium’s IMAX Theater and showcase how local companies and innovators are contributing to NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS)—the powerful rocket that will carry astronauts beyond low Earth orbit for the first time since 1972.

Attendees will get a firsthand look at the groundbreaking Artemis II mission, set to launch in early 2026. They’ll also hear directly from NASA experts, interact with hands-on science activities, and explore exhibits highlighting Utah’s aerospace impact.

“This is more than just a space mission—it’s a bold step for humanity, and Utah is right at the heart of it,” said Duke Johnson, Director of Clark Planetarium. “We’re thrilled to bring the community face-to-face with the people making this mission possible.”
