Businessman and Republican leader Jake Hunsaker announced his candidacy for the Utah State House of Representatives in District 48.
A Utah native, Hunsaker brings more than a decade of private-sector leadership experience, having built a career at Fortune 100 companies including Goldman Sachs, Google, and Twitter. His campaign centers on applying real-world experience to the practical challenges facing one of the fastest-growing regions in the state.
“Riverton, Herriman, and South Jordan are at the center of Utah’s hypergrowth and innovation,” Hunsaker said. “With that growth comes real challenges, and we need serious conservative leadership focused on local results. My goal is simple: make sure our policies keep pace so the next decade is even stronger than the last.”
Hunsaker’s priorities include public safety, responsible growth and infrastructure investments, housing affordability, and building effective partnerships across local, state, and federal levels to secure resources for the district.
In addition to his business background, Hunsaker has been deeply involved in Republican leadership. He has served as Chair of the Salt Lake County GOP Convention for the past two years, as well as a precinct officer and state and county delegate, and currently serves on the Utah Republican State Central Committee. He is a vocal advocate for a broad, solutions-focused Republican Party, frequently citing President Ronald Reagan’s vision of a “big tent” coalition grounded in conservative principles and civic respect.
