Uintah County Sheriff Steve Labrum elected President of Utah Sheriffs Association

The Utah Sheriffs Association has elected Uintah County Sheriff Steve Labrum as its president for 2026–27. Labrum, who previously served as the association’s secretary, succeeds Kane County Sheriff Tracy Glover.

As president, Labrum will lead the association’s executive team and help guide its work on issues affecting sheriffs’ offices and the communities they serve. The association brings Utah’s sheriffs together to share resources, strengthen professional training, collaborate on public safety challenges, and advocate for policies informed by their experience serving communities across the state.

The 2026–27 leadership team is:

  • President: Sheriff Steve Labrum, Uintah County
  • First Vice President: Sheriff Nathan Curtis, Sevier County
  • Second Vice President: Sheriff Eric Houston, Garfield County
  • Secretary: Sheriff Ken Carpenter, Iron County
  • Immediate Past President: Sheriff Tracy Glover, Kane County
  • Past President: Sheriff Mike Smith, Utah County

“It’s an honor to serve as president of the Utah Sheriffs Association alongside sheriffs who represent such a wide range of communities,” said Labrum. “Our counties face different challenges, but we’re stronger when we share what we’ve learned, find common ground and support one another in serving the people of Utah.”

Labrum steps into the presidency after serving alongside Glover during his term. As immediate past president, Glover will continue to provide continuity and perspective to the leadership team. Smith, who preceded Glover as president, will serve as past president.
