Former House Speaker Mel Brown, R-Coalville, lost his bid for another term on Utah’s Capitol Hill.
Logan Wilde, a Morgan County Councilman, defeated Brown in the GOP primary for District 53 by a paltry eight votes in the final tally. The margin of victory for Wilde is so narrow, Brown may request a recount.
Brown has served a total of 24 years in the Legislature.
