Mia Love’s Campaign Spending $1 Million on Advertising

Mia Love 02Mia Love’s campaign announced they’re buying more than $1 million in television ad time ahead of November’s election.

That stunning number is more than double what Love spent in 2014 when she barely defeated Democrat Doug Owens.
Love’s campaign manager, Dave Hansen, says the ad buy will begin on September 6 and continue through the election.
Love’s move is the first concrete move in the air war in Utah’s 4th Congressional District. A Democratic PAC with ties to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has reserved $383,000 in ad time for broadcast and cable in Salt Lake City in the fall, but they have not yet paid for those ads. That means they may or may not air, depending on how close the race is leading up to election day.
Hansen says they plan to put down the cash for the ads soon. They will run on broadcast and cable outlets.
Love is widely seen as one of the most vulnerable Congressional Republicans heading into this election cycle. She defeated Owens by a little more than 7,000 votes two years ago.
A Salt Lake Tribune poll from June gave Owens a six-point lead over Love, but an internal poll from Love’s campaign had Love leading by 15 points.
