A new national poll finds Governor Gary Herbert has the fifth-highest approval rating of all the governors in the nation.
Morning Consult found Herbert had a 65% approval rating in Utah, compared to a 24% disapproval. That was good enough to rank him with the 5th-highest approval rating.
Those numbers nearly mirror the latest UtahPolicy.com survey where Herbert leads Democrat Mike Weinholtz by a 62-24% margin.
The only governors with a higher approval rating than Herbert are South Dakota’s Dennis Daugaard (74%), Maryland’s Larry Hogan (70%), Massachusetts’ Charlie Baker (70%) and Montana’s Steve Bullock (66%).
The governors with the highest disapproval ratings are Kansas’ Sam Brownback (71% disapproval), Connecticut’s Dan Malloy (70% disapproval), New Jersey’s Chris Christie (68% disapproval), Michigan’s Rick Snyder (61% disapproval) and Maine’s Paul LePage (58% disapproval).
Morning Consult surveyed 71,900 registered voters in all 50 states from May 2016 to September 2016.
