Democrat Doug Owens is scaling back his advertising buy ahead of November’s election. But, campaign sources say it’s a strategic move.
Owens’ campaign has pulled back on advertising the week of October 18-24 and completely stopped their television buy the following week. However, a source within the Owens campaign says those dollars were re-directed during the last two weeks to target voters who use vote-by-mail ballots. Those ballots are set to start arriving in mailboxes during the next week or so.
But, Democrats should not worry that the airwaves will go silent with ads supporting Owens. The House Majority PAC, which is Nancy political action committee, reserved $383,000 of ad time in Utah back in August. Those ads should start hitting Utah televisions sometime in the next few weeks as well.
Previously, Mia Love’s campaign purchased more than $1 million in advertising ahead of November’s election.
