Two GOP political action committees are set to pump a half-million dollars into Utah’s 4th Congressional District race.
Politico reports that the Congressional Leadership Fund and American Action Network, two groups aligned with Republican House leadership that make independent expenditures in down-ballot races.
AAN and CLF are spending about $6.4 million in seats that lean Republican, putting in $500,000 into the Salt Lake City suburbs to back Rep. Mia Love and another $400,000 in central Virginia’s 5th District, now an open seat, which backed Mitt Romney by 7 points in 2012.
Previously, Nancy Pelosi’s House Majority PAC reserved $383,000 in advertising to support Owens. That makes nearly $1 million in outside expenditures pouring into the race in the final four weeks before the November election.
