Governor appoints Margaret Plane to Utah Court of Appeals

Gov. Gary R. Herbert has appointed Margaret Plane to the Utah Court of Appeals.

“I am pleased to have the opportunity to appoint Margaret Plane to the Utah Court of Appeals,” Gov. Herbert said. “She has demonstrated superior intellect and expertise. I am confident in her skills and know that she will serve well in this new position. I am proud to make this appointment.”

Plane currently serves as special counsel for the Park City Municipal Corporation. Prior to being appointed as special counsel, Plane served as City Attorney for the Salt Lake City Corporation. Plane received a B.A. in philosophy from the Rollins College in Florida, an M.A. in philosophy and a J.D. from the University of Utah.

“This appointment is such an honor and I’m grateful for Governor Herbert’s confidence in me,” said Plane. “If confirmed, I will be dedicated to the rule of law and will work incredibly hard to serve the people of Utah.”

This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Utah Senate.
