Asian Bicycle Executives Ride Through Utah While Ogden City Builds Its Outdoor Sports Brand

The City of Ogden, one of North America's new outdoor recreation clusters, continues to make headlines within the Asian bicycle industry.

Ogden's latest notoriety came in September when the city hosted its second annual seven-day Scenic Tour of Utah bicycle trip for an entourage of Asian bicycle executives.

Three major Asian media companies came along for the ride, closely reporting on the activities of the 26 bicycle executives and the incredible Utah scenery, while providing the state with significant media attention.

The tour began after the Interbike show in Las Vegas. The Asian riders were accompanied by Ogden Mayor Mike Caldwell, Outdoor Recreation Office Director Brad Peterson, Economic Development Corporation of Utah COO Todd Brightwell and Utah Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau CEO Joel Racker.

After leaving Las Vegas, the group slowly navigated north, bicycle-touring sites like Zion National Park, Moab, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point, Goblin Valley State Park, Sundance Ski Resort, Snowbird Ski Resort and Salt Lake City before riding into the Ogden Harvest Moon Festival.
