Press Release: Americans for Prosperity Launches Utah Chapter

Americans for Prosperity, an advocacy group for economic freedom, announced the launch of its Utah chapter on Monday. Evelyn Everton, a 22-year Utah resident and long-time advocate for economic freedom, will lead the new chapter. The group will educate Utahns on sound economic policy and help concerned citizens to make their voices heard on behalf of free-markets and limited government.

“It is a privilege to help Utahns understand the legislative process and make their voices heard,” Everton said. “Our state is in a unique position as a national leader in economic freedom. It is critical that we ensure Utah continues to lead as a state where opportunity and freedom can flourish. Together, with our growing network of activists, we will be sure to do just that.  I look forward to engaging our communities and establishing a state organization where Utahns can make a real difference in their lives.”

Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips added: “We are thrilled to launch the Utah chapter of Americans for Prosperity with Evelyn Everton as our State director.  Evelyn is a solid leader who has spent her life working to lower taxes, rein in government spending and bring free-market reforms to education and health care. Under Evelyn’s strong leadership, the Utah chapter will be in great hands.  We look forward to taking another step forward in advancing economic freedom.”

Everton most recently served as vice president of government relations for a Salt Lake City technology company. Previously she has served as Communications Director for Senator Orrin Hatch's 2012 campaign and Community Relations Director for Mike Lee’s 2010 U.S. Senate campaign.
