Salt Lake City’s Engineering Division advises residents, commuters and area stakeholders that a reconstruction project at 1700 South from State Street to 700 East is scheduled to begin Monday, June 15, and continue through December 2015.
This project will improve 1700 South through the following elements:
- Roadway removal, excavation, compaction and grading
- Concrete paving from State Street to 500 East
- Asphalt paving from 500 East to 700 East
- Replacement of existing curb and gutter, including improved driveways
- Replacement of water line
- Addition of storm drains
- New turn lanes at 200 East and 300 East intersections
- Improvements to UTA bus stop conditions and locations
During construction, stakeholders can expect traffic restrictions, construction equipment and vehicles in the vicinity and an increase in noise. Cyclists are encouraged to use an alternate route during construction.
