Governor Gary R. Herbert has appointed Brent R. Baker to serve a second term as a Commissioner on the Utah Securities Commission. He joins four other Utah citizens to support the Utah Division of Securities in setting policy, adopting rules, and adjudicating enforcement actions brought by the Division.
As a member of Clyde Snow's White Collar Crime, Government and Independent Investigations Practice Group, Baker focuses on defending corporate and individual clients in regulatory enforcement investigations and litigation before the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), and other federal and state agencies. He has handled corporate internal investigations and has represented broker-dealers, investment advisors, and individual registered representatives before the SEC and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
