On Tuesday, September 1,Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams and Riverton City Mayor Bill Applegarth will join Riverton cyclists to talk about what new bike lanes along busy 2700 West mean to the safety of residents in the area.
Riverton City received active transportation grant funding from Salt Lake County this year for three projects along 2700 West – a highly trafficked street in the fast-growing city. The county awarded $700,000 in grants to 13 local cities and agencies that will use the money to support a countywide bicycle transportation network. All the projects will make bike commuting safer and easier for county residents.
At the event, Mayors McAdams and Applegarth will hop on bikes and join Riverton cyclists for a short ride on the new bike lanes.
