Jeff Edwards01Congratulations to Questar Corporation Chairman and CEO Ron Jibson, who was named the 37th “Giant in Our City” by the Salt Lake Chamber last week. He will receive the award at a ceremony on April 12 at the Grand America Hotel.

Ron’s professional achievements and distinguished service place him among the best of the best in Utah. His community involvement is as extensive as his professional experience. Professionally, he was appointed as Questar’s chairman of the board in July 2012 and also serves as a director of National Fuel Gas Corporation. What’s more, he is active on the boards for a variety of other professional organizations like the IDACORP/ Idaho Power Co., Doc Warner’s Alaskan Fishing and the Gas Technology Institute. In the past he has served as chairman of the Salt Lake Chamber, EDCUtah, Junior Achievement of Utah, the Davis County Chamber of Commerce and the USU Engineering Advisory Board.

Ron’s service to EDCUtah dates back many years. He has served as chairman of our Board of Directors, helped sponsor many EDCUtah events, participated in investor calls with us and is highly engaged in EDCUtah at an operational level. What’s more, Brad Baird, one of our business developers, has been on loan to us from Questar for quite some time.

As a consequence of his service, Ron has received numerous awards and recognitions, including: Honorary Doctorate, Salt Lake Community College; Utah State University Alumnus of the Year; Utah State University Engineering Distinguished Alumnus; Westminster College Alumnus of the Year; Diabetes Association Father of the Year; Multiple Sclerosis Society T.K.
