Democratic PAC Hits Love Hard in New TV Ad (with video)

HMP Love AdThe House Majority PAC, a Democratic group, launched a brutal television ad on Tuesday hitting Rep. Mia Love.

The ad, entitled “Lavish” highlights the controversy from Love improperly using her Congressional account to pay for travel to the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. Love also used the account to pay for an airline ticket two days in a row, one of which she did not use. In both cases, Love denied misusing taxpayer funds, but repaid the money.

The ad also slams Love for voting against a bipartisan education bill, as well as using taxpayer money to send mailers to constituents.

The ad is designed to boost Democrat Doug Owens in his second bid to defeat Love. A new UtahPolicy.com survey published Monday showed Love with a 13-point lead in the race.

The House Majority PAC, which is tied to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, is spending more than $380,000 in the contest in Utah’s 4th District.
