Parry Harrison, a fifth-generation Utahn, devoted father, nonprofit leader, and long-time East Sandy resident, has announced his candidacy for Sandy City Council in District 3.
Having grown up attending Park Lane Elementary, Eastmont Middle School, and Jordan High School—now raising his own family in the same community—Parry brings deep roots and strong commitment to the East Bench, the heart of District3. “I love this city. I want to serve it,” he says on his campaign site.
A proven leader in both public service and community development, Parry has spent 12 years in homebuilding and real estate development/community investment, and the past three years with Habitat for Humanity of Summit & Wasatch Counties. His nonprofit work—leading The Nonprofit Homebuilder as President & CEO—showcases his ability to bring together people to make significant change.
Key Priorities of the Campaign:
• Traffic & Transportation: Continue enhancing traffic flow while expanding multimodal options like public transit, biking, and walking.
• Parks & Open Space: Invest in long-term sustainability, accessibility, and utility of neighborhood parks and community spaces.
• Neighborhood Safety: Collaborate with police, neighborhood watch, and public works to ensure safe streets, sidewalks, and lighting for children and residents. • Affordable Housing: Address constraints on housing options to allow families to stay in Sandy at all life stages.
• Economic Vibrancy: Encourage a diverse mix of local businesses while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Parry emphasizes that he will serve as a PUBLIC SERVANT—not a politician. His nonpartisan, independent campaign reflects that philosophy: no political donations, no yard signs—just face-to-face outreach and earned votes.
