Today, Representative Anthony Loubet filed to run for re-election to continue representing Utah House District 27, which includes parts of Magna, Kearns, West Valley City, West Jordan, and Copperton.
“It is a great privilege to serve the hardworking families of the West Side,” Rep. Loubet said. “I’m running for re-election because I’ve given our community a seat at the table—and our residents and families deserve to keep our concerns top of mind.”
Since first being elected to the Utah Legislature, Rep. Loubet has gained a reputation as one of Utah’s most effective and bipartisan lawmakers. He sponsored and passed legislation to expand child sexual abuse reporting, strengthen access to health care, and make state government more efficient and accountable. His legislative efforts included reforms to workers’ compensation, governmental accounting and financial reporting, adult protective services, and rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities.
Among his work was a successful proposal to amend Utah’s Constitution to improve transparency around future constitutional amendments placed on the ballot. The change responded directly to concerns raised by voters during the 2024 General Election, when many constituents said proposed amendments were difficult to find and review before voting on Election Day. Loubet’s legislation requires proposed constitutional amendments to be published and advertised for 60 days prior to an election, including through online platforms, ensuring voters have clear access to the full text while also reducing reliance on costly newspaper publication and saving taxpayer dollars. The reform was designed to make it easier for Utahns to make informed decisions at the ballot box.
When re-elected, Rep. Loubet will continue to secure infrastructure investments for West Side communities, stand up for working families, increase funding for local public schools, reduce pollution in the valley, and ensure fair and effective representation for Utahns.
Rep. Loubet and his wife, Kira, live in West Valley City, where they are raising their six children. He has emphasized that staying closely connected to constituents and listening to the priorities of District 27 families will remain central to both his service and his re-election campaign.
