Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes released the following statement on Donald Trump’s proposed nominees for the U.S. Supreme Court:
“I applaud Mr. Trump’s list of highly respected jurists who understand the critical importance of judicial restraint, the rule of law and constitutional textualism in the tradition of Justice Scalia. These are some of the finest legal minds in our nation today, including Utah’s own Justice Thomas Lee. It gives me hope that Mr. Trump would also appoint similar types of judges to federal circuit and district courts which often affect our daily lives even more than the High Court.
“Judicial appointments are one of the most important factors in the upcoming election and will shape our nation far beyond the term of any one President. As a conservative, I am very encouraged that a President Trump would strengthen the federal courts with faithful constitutionalists for the benefit of generations to come.”
