Monday afternoon, Sylvia Miera-Fisk entered the race to become Utah’s next Governor!
Sylvia Miera-Fisk is a transformative candidate for Governor because
– Sylvia will ensure transparency and a level playing field instead of catering to special interest groups and lobbyists- Sylvia’s journey, at times as a single mother juggling multiple jobs and businesses to secure her children’s future, has given her a profound understanding of the challenges faced by everyday Utahns
– Sylvia’s story, as a direct descendent of Spanish explorers, Native Americans, and Mexican Americans, is a testament to the potential within each of us
– Sylvia, as a minority woman, successfully balances her rich heritage with a relentless pursuit of excellence based on merit
– Sylvia is a commercial-rated multi-engine pilot who knows how to handle responsibility amidst adversity
– And Sylvia has sung in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for several years
Sylvia knows the importance of providing a seat at the table for everyone, not just the well-off and politically connected. Sylvia provides a straightforward, transparent, and common-sense approach, precisely the traits Utah needs in its Governor in today’s chaos and confusion.
As Governor, Sylvia will elevate Utah to unprecedented heights of prosperity and community, ensuring a bright and exemplary future for Utah.
When asked why she is running for Governor, Sylvia states,
“Our current Governor is a flip-flopper who has ushered in terrible policies for Utah. After promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Cox suddenly claims (admits) it is divisive and racist. Despite Cox’s backpedaling, the DEI Director at our University of Utah still rakes in nearly $400,000.00 for her annual taxpayer-funded pay package. Under my leadership, we will terminate DEI in state agencies. As a minority woman, I believe there are better ways to provide equal opportunities and access to education and employment. People should be hired and promoted based on their skill set and merit, not the color of their skin, sexual identity, etc.”
Sylvia continues,
“Cox and Colorado’s ultra-liberal Governor now tell us to Disagree Better. Cox touts himself and uber-left lobbyist Troy Williams as examples of disagreeing better. Cox does not tell voters that his lobbyist friend Troy Williams, and certain of Cox’s taxpayer-funded staff, aggressively seek to silence and undermine the reputations and livelihood of those who “disagree” with Cox.”
“As your Governor, I will root out cronyism, favoritism, and petty politics.”
